If your child gets cold, the symptom continues for some 5 to 7 days,
and the nose of your child may become airless. If the allergy causes jamming
in addition to runny nose, few drops of the mucus get into the back throat
and this is known as postnasal drip. As the baby could not split it out
it might swallow it and cause vomiting as mucus may irritate the stomach
and you may be worrying about what had happened to your child. You could
have a talk with the doctor or pediatric allergist, and they take the
case history and study the case thoroughly in order to find the reason
for the allergy. Mostly, it might be due to environment pollutions like
dust.
Almost all ask the question that whether the baby will develop allergy
if both the husband and wife has food allergies. Typically, this is a
common question which is mainly discussed by the pediatrics when they
talk about allergies. Chiefly, women are asked not to eat peanuts when
they carry or do breastfeeding. There is not any particular study which
gives solution for this problem. On the other hand, the American Academy
of Pediatrics have recently proved that there is no strong evidence to
recommend the fact that the pregnant women who give off eating peanuts
or breastfeeding, gets their child no danger of allergies.
But, you could take these safety measures as an individual, and if the
mothers feel that they have the symptom just with in six to eight months,
they could be interviewed individually and their menu could be altered.
When the children reach the age of three, there are twenty percent of
chances to get food allergies, and the number starts its raise when the
child reaches the age of six. Moreover, children even below the age of
two gets the symptoms of allergies like coughing, wheezing, or forming
rashes when they are exposed to something, mostly for food. Luckily, you
are having lots of chances to prevent allergies at the first stage of
its development.
The first thing to be done to prevent the allergies is to study how it
works. The immune system of the body is organized in such a way to produce
antibodies in order to fight against the bacteria and viruses. If you
have wound in your body the immune system send some chemicals to heal
the injury that is the reason you are getting itching and swelling over
that particular area.
In order to get clear of your child from taking the foods that are allergic
to her, you must become a keen label reader. Luckily, from 2006, provision
was made to label the packed foods, and it states if the product is formed
of possible allergens such as nuts or milk. But, as even before 2006 it
was possible to get packages of food items with label, you must be aware
of the other name by which the food items could be called. For example,
milk may be called as casein and albumin is the name given for egg. You
could see some labels saying “May contain…” and some other says that “Processed
in the plant which contains …” and you must be wise enough to identify
the contents of the products.
For the health growth of children, food forms to be an essential one.
But for many kids inoffensive foods like butter sandwich, milk, scrambled
egg and peanut may not be accepted by their bodies and cause problems.
This worries the parents and it appears to be a major problem for them.
It is estimated that the percentage of children suffering with allergy
under three figured to six and eight and it is still expected to increase.
It is also found out that the kids suffering with peanut allergy has become
two folded in the resent years. Further, researchers are struggling to
find out the reason for such a huge raise in the quantity of victims.
They are suspecting that it may be due to the amalgamation of environmental
as well as hereditary factors.
Allergies happen hereditarily, it is better for you to first learn how
far it is common in the families of the baby’s mother with father. When
both the parents seem to have it, then the child has sixty percent of
chance to suffer allergies, and if any one of the parent has allergy,
the child has thirty percentage of chance for happening. If you have allergy
for butter, peanut and seafood, your child is also likely to have it but
it doesn’t happen completely.
If your child is sensitive to milk, she may be allergic to milk products
also. This may be due to the fact that she may not be capable to stand
the proteins contained in the milk. But, if your child is not a severe
sufferer of mild allergy, her body may accept the product as the proteins
contained in the milk may be destroyed by heat.
Children need good food to grow strong and healthy. Sometimes it happens
that the most common foods like scrambled egg, peanut butter sandwich
or bottle/tin milk creates problems to kids. Many children under three
years are sensitive to to certain foods and the number may rise in future
as indicated by peanut allergy which has been doubled in children in some
years. Researchers feel environmental factor and hereditary factors are
some of the reasons for this allergy. Some suggestions for it are given
below.
The symptoms like diarrhea, swelling round the lips, eyes or tongue, wheezing
are found soon after intake of allergic food. In some severe cases, anaphylaxis
occurs with multiple symptoms and is life threatening.
The food given below can be given to babies when they grow older since
it is not safe to give them for infants.
Children under a year should not be given egg whites, cow’s milk as they
are prone to produce eczema and tummy upset.
Hard and sticky food like peanut, popcorn, marshmallows and butter may
allow the baby choke.
Grapes, carrots and full pieces of tinned fruit may cause choking.
Children below 4 are not recommended to have nuts.
Honey is said to have bacteria which is the cause for baby botulism.
Caffeinated drinks like iced tea or soda should be avoided.
The quantity of fruit juice given per day to infants should be less than
4 ounce as it may cause diarrhea.
We all do have some allergy towards a specific food; even though some
allergies are not serious we have to create awareness especially to the
parents with babies.
The food allergy occurs only when the immune system of the body treats
the food as a damaging foreign body and starts to produce chemicals to
battle against it. Some of the foods which cause allergy are peanuts,
cow’s milk, soy, eggs, tree nuts, shellfish, and wheat; fish etc. This
ends up with the ignorance of that particular food.
Some experts says that ,till the age of 3,the chance of food allergy ranges
from 5 to 7%.but this gradually decreases to 2% at the age of 10.As the
immunity increases in the child’s body the allergy towards wheat, cow’s
milk soy etc decreases. Peanuts and shellfish allergy are very difficult
to overcome.
Children suffering from allergies are sensitive to to milk, wheat, peanut
butter and eggs. The following advices help doctors and parents to keep
the children safely from dangerous reactions.
The allergy caused due to taking peanuts is increasing and is expected
to continue to increase. Data do not show the increase in allergic reaction
in taking eggs, wheat, and milk but the doctors believe it is increasing
as well. About 100 people sensitive to peanuts are dying every year. Sesame
allergy is becoming more common nowadays although it was not present a
decade ago.
Doctors advise the parents to postpone feeding the baby with peanuts,
eggs, fish as well as tree nuts.
